Homo-luminous is a brilliant and beautiful novel into a possible earth future. The eruptions that take place in the novel show the planet changing from unknown astronomical forces. This not only occurs in the solar system, but affects each individual who inhabits the earth. These changes enhance, exaggerate, and illuminate the characters in the novel. The main character, David, a shy, quiet, kind and rather inhibited man finds he has exceptional leadership abilities. Another character, Lori, finds her own singing and healing abilities expanded. Chris finds he's just been going along and possibly accepting brutality, and he now has to make new choices. But there are character deficits in many individuals who want to rule the world with their own rigid, cruel and fundamentalist beliefs, who will do anything to control people and their own power.There are tragedies, losses, and the longing for the familiar in a cold, icy new world. Those whose fundamentalist beliefs clash with the new dreams for a kind and utopian civilization lead into an adventurous and deadly war to rescue the tortured and enslaved.
The descriptions in the novel are illuminating, skillful and beautiful. I highly recommend this wonderful novel.

Quit reading after only a few pages...why do some writers have to write this supenatural crap...just write a good, rational story and we will buy it and read it.
This is without doubt the best story I've ever read in this genre. Better than "the stand", better than alas babylon, on the beach, thor's hammer---------all of them.
This was well written. The plot moved along at a good pace. The characters were developed well and I could see myself in there with them.
The end wasn't quite right, but maybe you'll feel different.
The author seems to be trying to re-do "The Stand". Don't, please. The book is well written,and I can understand the more positive reviews, but it was just a case of far too much pushed into one story for my tastes. It got twisted, and turned and completely confusing with every possible stock character thrown in for good measure.
Not sure if a sequel is planned but the story takes you through a lot and then drops you and finishes with an epilogue. It's as if the writer got tired of the story. It's well written up to that point in the story.
Unique plot. Characters to care about, villians to despise. Dangers! What more could you ask for?
There are some recurring spell-check problems (i.e. 'site' instead of 'sight', etc.), however the story line and action were good enough to slide me right by those errors and keep on reading.
I highly recommend it, and will be looking for more from this author.
